Airfield Shooting Club will hold an Outlaw “IDPA like” match this coming Sat, 30 Dec 2017. This will be an ALL steel four stage match. All targets are STATIC STEEL. There will be NO reactive targets so there will be NO resetting targets between shooters. There will be NO paper targets so NO pasting (none … honest). There will be NO target painting. Unless a target stand or target hanger gets shot away; there will be no pausing between shooters and stages. Turn time will be fast … be ready to shoot! And shoot again …
Welcome to the “COLD STEEL” end of year ASC Defensive Shooting match:
The web site (listed below) gives directions and discusses this pistol/Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) match. We will be using the IDPA standards for procedures and firearms. Sign in starts at 0915 but you can sign in anytime up until 1300 (a.k.a. 1 pm EST) . Shooting begins at 1000. Sign up is available only at the range. Set up begins at 0700 … could really use some help as the steel gets heavy!
Weather forecast is for COLD … darn COLD but no rain, snow, etc. Consider wearing shooting gloves.
The Course of Fire will come out on Friday. Making a few modifications to increase round count. Current round count is 68 so bring plenty of ammo. Some items to please note:
1. Again, the general focus is on longer range engagements and high round count per stage. Hence, per stage round count is almost maxed out at 18 each.
2. Minimum range will be 10 yards and max range will be 35 yards.
3. Given the layout; this is an ideal PCC match.
For NEW shooters: If you do not have a holster but want to shoot the match please come out; we’ll start you from a low ready position! You can stuff your extra mags in your pants pockets or tuck them in your waist belt. Note: Three mags are needed for the match but you can make it with two … as a new shooter). And of course you will need a firearm. Semi-auto 9mm and larger will work or a revolver.
Hope to see you at the range.
Thanks for all the new shooters that showed up and braved their first time shooting a competition. As you all can tell, it wasn't as bad as you think it was. Spread the word and let other know how much fun y'all had!

Here are the results from the 29 Jul 17 Airfield Shooting Club Defensive Pistol Match. The first attachment has the material sorted by Divisions while the second is sorted by overall match ranking.
Thank you all for coming and braving the constant drizzle and rain. Soggy cardboard target, slippery mud, and jamming “movers” make for a difficult match! A special thanks go out to the Safety Officers, Score Keepers, and all the volunteers that helped set up and stayed to help take down. Without your support there is no match; your participation is appreciated by all.
Finally, a congrats to the various Division winners:

CDP Jim Jones
ESP Jim VandenAkker
Revolver Terry Miltier
SSP Steve Myers
NFC Carlo Galinato
Next match is 30 Sept; hope to see you then.

"With Mother's Day coming to a close, we regret to info our shooters that this month's Carbine Match will have to be cancelled due to not having enough range officers to help run the match. For May 2018, we plan to make the match on the 3rd Saturday as not to not mess up the folks Memorial Day weekend plans. We will see everyone next month, June 17th. Yes, that's the 3rd Saturday. I will not be available on the 4th Saturday so hopefully getting the word out there of the June date change as well!"
First and foremost, want to thank C2 Shooting Center for allowing us to continue to hold our matches at such a great facility. Please give their FB page a "LIKE"!
Shout out to our Match Sponsors, International Replica Arms Company (IRAC), for providing some great prizes for the event. They had their tent setup and was able to showcase a lot of their top notch cerakote work.
