Shooters,

We are in the planning stages for our first Pistol Caliber Carbine fun match.  Due to this first match being a test of procedures and interest, the match has been moved to Monday night, April 17, 6:00-9:30pm.  Please update your calendars!

Registration for this match is being handled via Practiscore.  Registration is open now, please register at this link -> LGC April PCC fun match.

This match is for pistol-caliber carbines as allowed by LGC’s indoor range rules (limited to 9mm, .40s&w, and .45acp caliber, and no full-auto fire).  We have a division for sub-machinegun pistols in those same calibers.  We are also evaluating tactical-style .22s, such as ARs in .22lr.  If there is sufficient number of competitors and interest, we may move future PCC matches to Sunday mornings and will consider allowing .22lr entries.

The course of fire draft has 2 stages, with each stage requiring up to 50 rounds.  We will send out the final course of fire a couple days before the match.

Please note the following rules will apply for PCC matches:

1.       Normal LGC Practical Pistol rules and Standard Operating Procedure apply, except as modified below, i.e., match operates as a cold range and there is no handling of firearms except at safe table or at the firing line under supervision of a safety officer, etc.
2.       Pistol Caliber Carbines are limited by LGC indoor range rules:
a.       Carbine caliber must be 9mm, .40s&w, or .45acp only.  (Range rules also allow carbine .22lr; being evaluated for future PCC matches.)
b.      Submachine gun pistols in these calibers are also permitted for the match.
c.       Semi-auto firing only is permitted.  Full-auto firing is prohibited by range rules.
3.       Carbines and pistol sub-guns must be cased for transport in/out of the match:
a.       Acceptable hard or soft cases prevent trigger manipulation.  A gun sock is not permitted as a gun case.
b.      Carbines and pistol sub-guns will be transported in cases to the start position of each stage.
c.       Uncasing will be done under the SO’s verbal direction.
d.      Firearms will be cased and moved to a table for readiness between stages.
e.      The only other place a competitor may uncase the carbine is at the safe area, in the lounge in front of the fireplace.
4.       Chamber flags are required equipment:
a.       Competitors may use a dedicated chamber flag, a zip tie, or ‘weed whacker’ string as the chamber flag.  Color must be highly visible – yellow, orange, red, bright green, or white.
b.      Proper use of a chamber flag is defined as inserted in the chamber and bolt closed with flag protruding from ejection port.
c.       Chamber flags will be used even when the firearm is cased/transported.
d.      The competitor must retain the chamber flag throughout a stage for use at completion of the stage and “If clear, insert chamber flag, bolt closed” command, after which the firearm will be cased and stage called “clear”.
e.      Even when cleared and flagged, sweeping rules continue to apply until the firearm is cased.
5.       Unless specified in the course of fire, the default start condition will be loaded magazine inserted, first round chambered, and safety engaged.  Safety must be engaged if the carbine starts loaded.
6.       Unless specified in the course of fire, the default start position will be facing downrange with loaded firearm at port arms or low ready.  Firearm will be held in both hands, stock on belt or shouldered with muzzle 45odown, muzzle downrange, fingers out of the trigger guard, and safety engaged.
7.       Magazines:
a.       Magazines may be loaded with no more than 30 rounds.
b.      All magazines used or carried during a match must be loaded to the same number for all stages, up to the limit of the magazine or maximum of 30.
                                                               i.      Example:  A competitor has 3 magazines, one 33-round and two 17-round.  Competitor may load 30, 17, and 17 but must load that same way for all stages.
c.       No limit is placed on the number of magazines a competitor may carry.  Competitors should carry enough additional magazines to complete a 50-round stage and deal with potential malfunctions.
d.      Magazine couplers are not allowed.
8.       Other equipment:
a.       Illuminated optics will be left on for the duration of the match, not turned off between stages.
b.      Weapon-mounted lights are acceptable.
c.       Weapon-mounted sighting lasers are acceptable.
d.      Slings may be used while shooting a stage if desired.
